Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Government on Thursday gave green signal to the proposal made by the Capital Region Development Authority (CRDA) for taking various works to build capital city Amaravati with massive investment in the next three years.

At the meeting held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu and in the presence of Cabinet colleagues including Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan, a decision was take 45 engineering works like IAS officers, gazetted officers and Class 4 employees quarters at a cost of Rs33,000 crore. Briefing the media later, I&PR Minister Kolusu Partdhasarathy said they have already secured sanction of financial support from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank for building a futuristic capital. HUDCO has agreed to lend Rs11,000 crore as loan. KfW Development Bank of Germany has agreed to release a loan of Rs5,000 crore.

Earlier at the CRDA meeting, Naidu approved the construction of trunk roads, layouts and iconic buildings with Rs 24,276 crore in next three years. Works worth Rs 45,249.24 crore have been cleared by the CRDA. The Assembly building will be built in an extent of 103 acres with a height of 250 meters spreading to 11.22 lakh square meters.

Except when the Assembly is in session, the people will be allowed to have a glimpse of the entire capital of Amaravathi from the top of this Assembly complex, he said.
